Stylist Spotlight: Meet Heather Coutreau

Though a newly certified stylist, you may recognize Heather’s face from working the front desk at Tease Hair Boutique. A recent graduate from Southeastern Technical Institute, Heather has been a part of the Tease Hair Boutique team for over two years and has recently begun her third year as an Associate.

Born and raised in Brockton, Heather always enjoyed doing hair and knew she wanted to be a stylist. She graduated from Brockton High School in the midst of the pandemic, which made her initially choose the more traditional route of studying biochemistry in college.

“I always wanted to be a stylist,” says Heather, “But with the pandemic, everything was up in the air and schooling wasn’t the same. I went the traditional route, but quickly decided that life is too short to not do what I want.”

After two years of studies, Heather took the leap to pursue her passion and join the Tease Hair Boutique team at the front desk. Upon graduating from hair school, Heather joined the Tease Hair Boutique Associate Program, where newly certified stylists are able to gain hands-on experience and learn from some of the top stylists in the area.

Heather chose Tease Hair Boutique as the place to begin her career because she enjoyed the continuing education, great culture, flexibility of schedules and the salon’s overall commitment to charity. She recalls a key memory from school as one of her favorites from her career to date; her first referral where one of her regulars who worked at Massasoit recommended her to half her department.  Though still starting out, Heather’s favorite service is providing a client with the perfect blowout, and she notes that she gives a pretty great scalp massage.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs as well as reading and cooking. An avid lover of animals and science, if Heather hadn’t pursued her passion for making people feel beautiful, she also considered becoming a veterinarian. If she didn’t have to work for a living, Heather would spend her time writing a novel and traveling. When asked who inspires her most, Heather answered “anyone who loves what they do for a living. Who has a life where work doesn’t feel like a job.”

Next time you’re at the salon, make sure to say hello to Heather and congratulate her on her new position as an Associate!
