Meet Shyann Kelley, a recently licensed stylist and a new member of the Tease Hair Boutique Associate program! Growing up in Abington and Cape Cod, Shyann enjoyed styling hair from a young age. Even at five years old she would play salon with her cousins, styling their hair as well as her own - even giving their Barbie Dolls hair makeovers.
It came as no surprise to her family when she decided to attend South Shore Vocational Technical High School for their cosmetology program. A well-known trade program for high school students, Shyann was able to gain hands-on training in the beauty industry during her time at school, completing the 1000 state board training hours required for licensure. After completing the program, Shyann worked at Zona Hair Salon before discovering Tease Hair Boutique through a fellow stylist working at Tease.
“I had my first visit with Tyla and it was such a friendly and welcoming environment,” says Shyann, “Tyla would always tell me how it was a great place to work and that there were a lot of opportunities.”
In the two months she has been a part of the Tease Hair Boutique Associate Program, Shyann has gained hands-on experience as a stylist, refining her techniques and learning from some of the best in the area. While she’s still finding her areas of specialization, Shyann’s favorite part of being a stylist is the opportunity to make people feel good about themselves.
When she’s not behind the chair, Shyann enjoys spending time with friends and family and activities like going to the beach. She is most inspired by her family who have always supported her, and when asked what she would do if she didn’t have to work for a living, she mentions that she thoroughly enjoys her career and would rather spend her time working than not.
