Stylist Spotlight: Say Hello to Heather Jordan
Meet Heather Jordan, a level five Hair Stylist who has been working at Tease Hair Boutique for almost nine years. A South Shore native, Heather grew up in Pembroke and has always had a passion for hair. Even at twelve years old she started coloring her nana’s hair, so it was no surprise that she decided to attend Empire Beauty School after getting her associates degree. Upon graduating, Heather joined the Tease Hair Boutique team as owner Heather Silva’s assistant and she fell in love with the salon.
“Tease offered me a mentor.” Heather explains, “At the start of my career, that was so important to me.”
Nine years later, Heather is now an experienced stylist with a strong reputation and the same exuberant passion for hair. Doubling as an educator at Tease, she now functions as a mentor and advisor to those joining the associate program. One of Heather’s favorite things about working at Tease is the culture, describing the environment as a sisterhood.
“I couldn’t ask for a better group of women to share my weeks with,” Heather boasts about her coworkers, “You can feel it when you walk through the door. We all love each other and we love creating beautiful hair”
Heather is certified in Babe Extensions, Brazilian Blowout and Barbicide and specialises in creating beautiful blonde looks as well as formal and casual styling, though she finds it hard to think of anything hair related that doesn’t bring her joy.
“At the beginning of my career, I would’ve told you I got into this because I love to be creative and I love hair and makeup.” says Heather, “But now, it’s all about the connections I form during that one-on-one time with my clients. Seeing someone’s face light up and feeling their energy shift after a transformation is the best feeling, I live for watching that ‘confidence boost’ happen in real time.”
When she’s not enjoying one-on-one time at the salon with her clients, Heather loves spending time with her family, preferably outdoors when the weather is nice. If not, you might run into her at a local TJMaxx or Marshalls; another favorite pastime.
Heather believes that to be a good Hair Stylist, you need to understand and appreciate different personalities.
