Stylist Spotlight: Say Hello to Kayla Comperchio

Meet Kayla Comperchio, a Tease Hair Boutique Associate who has been working at the salon for just under a year. Kayla grew up in Pembroke, Massachusetts before attending college for criminal justice and psychology. Though she always toyed with the idea of becoming a Hairstylist, Kayla decided she wanted to pursue a career in the forensic field.
Upon graduating, she began working for the Norfolk District Attorney's office. It was then she realized her true passion for beauty, and left her job to attend hair school at Toni and Guy Academy.
“I have always loved doing hair and makeup, since a very early age,” Kayla explains about her career, “I wanted to do something that would make people feel better about themselves and beautiful.”

After completing Toni and Guy Academy and receiving her Cosmetology license, Kayla joined the Tease Hair Boutique team for their Associate Program. A “teaching salon”, Tease Hair Boutique welcomes newly-licensed stylists to their associate program where they’ll work closely with tenured stylists, perfecting their skills and learning from some of the best.

“I was drawn to the Associate program they have. I got the chance to work with high level stylists and learn from them hands on. All the girls at Tease are welcoming and friendly, it makes going to work a lot better.” says Kayla.
Kayla specializes in foils and balayage, and is both tape-in and hand-tied extension certified as well as barbicide, Brazilian Blowout, Keratin and Cezanne certified.
“Tease has a lot to offer,” says Kayla, “the owner Heather is very creative and driven, ensuring we’re up to date on the latest styles and trends. I get to make everyone feel beautiful by having their hair the way they want it, and it really makes me be creative.”

Like a lot of people, Kayla’s career started in a very different direction but her true passion for styling pulled her to Tease. When Kayla isn’t behind the chair at the salon, she enjoys going to the gym and hanging out with her friends, family, boyfriend and her German Shepherd puppy, Bear. If she didn’t have to work she would spend her time traveling the world, though Kayla is fortunate to thoroughly enjoy her passion for her career.
“To be a good stylist, you need to keep up with the current trends and stylists, and just be passionate about what you do,” says Kayla.
