At Tease Hair Boutique in Norwell, we believe that beauty isn’t just what you see; it’s what you give. That’s why we were thrilled when our owner, Heather Silva, and team members Jen Geraghty (Manager), Christina Collins (Level 3 Stylist), and Heather Coutreau (Level 1 Stylist) volunteered their time to support the “Fashion Plates” event held by the National MS Society’s Greater New England chapter.

About Fashion Plates

Fashion Plates is a premier fundraising luncheon and fashion show organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event brings together business and community leaders in support of critical MS research and services. Guests attend in business attire, enjoy a stylish presentation, and contribute through ticket sales, tables, and sponsorships. Volunteers play a vital role, from planning to hair styling on event day, so that more proceeds can flow directly to the Society’s mission.

What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic and often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body. It can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, numbness, vision problems, and difficulty with coordination and mobility. MS is unpredictable and affects each person differently. While there is no cure yet, advancements in treatment and therapy (many made possible through fundraising events like Fashion Plates) can significantly improve quality of life for those living with the disease.

Why MS Research Matters

Research is key to understanding MS, discovering better treatment options, and ultimately finding a cure. The funds raised through Fashion Plates go directly toward groundbreaking research, advocacy, and support services that empower people with MS to live their fullest lives. This is why we were so proud to stand behind the mission; not just with words, but with our hands and hearts.

How the Event Works

Held annually at a beautiful venue like the Boston Quincy Marriott this year, the event features:

  • A fashion show highlighting community members who support MS research

  • A luncheon for networking and connection

  • Sponsorships and in-kind donations to maximize impact

  • A behind-the-scenes volunteer team managing every stylish detail

Our Tease Team’s Role Our Tease crew volunteered in the hair-styling station: prepping attendees, creating polished up-dos, and delivering professional event-ready looks. Owner Heather Silva led the charge alongside Jen Geraghty, Christina Collins, and Heather Coutreau. Their goal? To bring the same level of care and artistry we deliver every day in the salon to this inspiring community event.

Why We Do It

At Tease Hair Boutique, giving back is woven into our culture. MS doesn’t just affect the individual, it touches entire families and communities. Supporting research through events like Fashion Plates is our way of showing up for something bigger than ourselves.

“It’s such a heart-warming event from beginning to end." says Heather Silva, owner of Tease Hair Boutique, "We get to help the models feel absolutely beautiful, and it’s incredible watching so many people and businesses come together to create something meaningful. It’s one of those fun, feel-good afternoons I look forward to every single year.”
