First impressions are everything; that’s why Tease Hair Boutique has appointed two incredibly knowledgeable and friendly women to the front desk. Between checking in clients, making product recommendations and maneuvering schedules, Nancy and Karen play an integral role in keeping things running smoothly at the salon.
Meet Nancy
If you’ve visited Tease Hair Boutique in the past three years, chances are you’ve met Nancy Barden at check in. A licensed cosmetologist, Nancy has always been fascinated by hair and beauty, spending years as a stylist before joining the Tease Hair Boutique team in 2018. A Weymouth native, Nancy was looking to continue her career in the hair industry when she came across an opening at Tease Hair Boutique.
“Tease has such a great vibe, similar to working in the city and same energy and quality of work,” Nancy explains, “I love the sense of camaraderie at the salon too.”
Nancy describes herself as a people person and loves interacting with clients everyday, always greeting them with a kind smile and making everyone feel welcome. A beauty professional herself, Nancy is incredibly knowledgeable about the products sold at Tease and loves giving recommendations to clients, her favorite product being the Shu Uemura oil.
Nancy loves working at the salon, for both seeing the clients and spending time with the Tease Hair Boutique staff. When she’s not at the salon Nancy enjoys a variety of hobbies including baking, exercising, shopping and spending time with her husband and friends. With two grown sons, Nancy describes herself as an empty nester, with the exception of her new role as a “Nonni”, with grandchildren in Texas (her favorite vacation spot for the great company) she likes to often visit and a brand new granddaughter on the South Shore.
Say Hello to Karen
Another familiar face at the front desk is that of Karen Burke! A Scituate native, Karen was attending Bridgewater State University and looking for part time work when she came across the front desk opening at Tease Hair Boutique online. She had worked at various local businesses in the past, but fell in love with the fun and welcoming vibe at Tease Hair Boutique.
“I had receptionist experience from a previous job but had never worked in a hair salon before” says Karen, “so it was like a whole new world to me! I was excited for a challenge and to be welcomed into the salon.”
A recent graduate of Bridgewater State University ,Karen is a part of the Tease Hair Boutique family and enjoys the flexibility of her part-time work at the salon. During her two years with Tease she’s become knowledgeable on the different products offered at Tease, her favorite being the Kerastase Discipline Fluidissime Spray.
“Everyone brings their own individual strengths and personalities creating an interesting, lively work environment” Karen explains, “getting to know both the stylists and the clients has made my time here so meaningful.”
As one of eight siblings, Karen was already used to a lively environment before joining the Tease Hair Boutique team. When she’s not at school or work, Karen loves to travel, her favorite vacation spot being Martha’s vineyard for it’s peaceful summer island vibes.
