In this month’s stylist spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to Alisiea Bray, a level four Hair Stylist who has been working for Tease Hair Boutique for 8 years. Alisiea had always known she wanted to be a stylist, and claims that her Aunt Jennifer was her number one inspiration for this career goal.
“My aunt started her journey as a hairdresser in a salon, then it evolved into her traveling the road doing hair and wigs for Broadway, tv shows and movies, “Alisiea explains, “she was also passionate and found happiness wherever her jobs lead her. I aspired to have her drive and integrity.”
Growing up in Quincy, Alisiea attended North Quincy High School before she decided to pursue her passion in hair at Empire Beauty School in Downtown Boston. Upon graduating, Alisiea was looking for a salon that had that same city-vibe, but a little closer to home. That’s when she came across Tease Hair Boutique.
“Tease stood out to me immediately for their ongoing education workshops and salon environment. As soon as I walked into the salon, the girls were so inviting and talented. I found a forever bond with these girls and I wouldn't want it any other way.”
Alisiea started her career at Tease in their Associate Program, which allows Hair Stylists who are just entering the workforce to fine-tune their skills and learn from some of the best while growing at their own pace. Once a stylist has hit their milestones and completed the program, they then start working as a stylist on the floor, building their own clientele and continuing to improve.
Alisiea specializes in balayage and loves full makeover projects that include creating custom colors and tedious foiling techniques. She holds a laundry list of certifications, including Kerastase curl, cut & styling, Wella color, cut & foil, Nayo color & cut, Babe Extensions, Brazilian Blowout, Shu Umera and Caviar cutting & styling, to name a few.
Outside of work, Alisiea enjoys traveling, spending time with her friends and family, going on adventures with her boyfriend, and of course playing with her bulldog, Franny. If Alisiea didn’t have to work, she would spend her time traveling the world, immersing herself in new cultures and experiences.
When asked what her favorite thing about being a Hair Stylist is, Alisiea says it’s without a doubt her clients “Being able to create something that enhances their happiness truly makes my day.”
